This ballerina inspired jewellery or keepsake box is handmade by myself from solid ethically sourced local Irish elm wood.
I used my own sawmill to plank the tree and then air dried the resulting planks for several years. Prior to making the box the wood was kiln dried in my kiln.
The motif of the ballerina is in walnut veneer with a surround of sycamore veneer.
The lining of the internal base of the box is in a dark grey/charcoal faux suede. The bottom of the box is also in a faux suede ensuring the surface on which the box is placed is protected.
The high-quality hinges are made of solid brass and are made in the UK.
The box is available with an optional tray made of solid sycamore. A picture of the optional tray can be seen in the gallery.
