This handmade ballet dancer jewellery or keepsake box is crafted from solid, ethically sourced Irish elm and designed to be both beautiful and practical.
Each box is made by me in my workshop using carefully selected timber. The elm for this piece was milled on my own sawmill, air dried for several years, and kiln dried before making. The ballerina motif is created in walnut veneer and framed with sycamore veneer, giving the box an elegant contrast and distinctive handcrafted character.
The interior base is lined in dark grey faux suede, with matching faux suede on the underside to help protect the surface on which the box is placed. The box is fitted with solid brass hinges made in the UK.
